Safe As Houses tells the darkly comic tale of Chuck's final open house--a saga packed with ineffectual scams, fatal kitchen accidents, bags of cash, novel self-improvement schemes, and depressing interior design tips-- answering the question, "What happens if your perfect house turns out to have been built over the graveyard of the American Dream?"
